The Role: Digital Marketing Assistant
  • This is an exciting opportunity for a bright, talented and motivated graduate to join the expanding digital arm of a fast-paced and busy marketing team. The company is enhancing its digital output and in this role you will help shape the direction and future of the company’s digital marketing strategy, whilst also working on the latest innovations, technologies and developments in digital marketing.
  • This role would suit an ambitious graduate with office experience, preferably in a digital-related field, or a first jobber looking to progress their career in a dynamic global media business.
  • Reporting to and working closely with the Digital Marketing Manager, you will work across a variety of web and online channels focusing on lead-generation, new customer acquisition, customer retention and optimisation of the customer journey across our portfolio of websites.
  • The Digital Marketing Assistant’s main functions will include maintaining the websites, working on lead-generation and customer acquisition via SEO, PPC, online display, social media & email and analysing and benchmarking the results using Google Analytics and other monitoring tools. The marketing department works as a team, so whilst you will be allocated specific digital projects and tasks; you will also support the wider marketing team on a variety of online & offline tasks.

Duties and responsibilities
  •  Assisting the wider marketing team with creation of emails and ensuring they include the correct & relevant tracking codes & to best practice
  •  Assisting the wider marketing team in setting up a/b testing & dynamic content for their email campaigns
  •  Assist the digital marketing manager in creating & implementing social media strategy for the business across a variety of social media: LinkedIn, Twitter, Blogs etc
  •  Setting up and maintain relevant discussion groups on LinkedIn
  •  Maintaining social media sites
  •  Image manipulation to make images web-ready using Photoshop
  •  Designing basic online ad collateral using Photoshop
  •  Assist with ongoing email template design & development
  •  Assist the Digital Marketing Manger to increase traffic volumes to the websites via SEO – with specific focus on article distribution, link building & on-page optimisation
  •  Ensuring all marketing pages are correctly optimised for SEO and adhere to brand & web guidelines before final sign-off by the Digital Marketing Manger
  •  Providing the Digital Marketing Manger with analysis & reporting on website user journeys
  •  Ensuring the website user journeys are optimised to up-sell and cross-sell
  •  Implementing content-driven online lead-generation and new customer acquisition campaigns across a variety of channels (SEO, PPC, social media, online display & PR distribution)
  •  Repurposing existing editorial content for customer acquisition campaigns
  •  Creating & designing the landing pages and thank you pages for customer acquisition campaigns
  •  Ensuring all relevant Google Analytics tracking code is recorded correctly in one central location and included in ALL online marketing activity
  •  Analysing, benchmarking and providing reporting for ALL digital campaign results & metrics using Google Analytics & other online monitoring tools – with a specific focus on ROI
  •  Monitoring the Google Adwords PPC account day-to-day – specifically focussing on spend keyword & ad performance to optimise conversions and reduce cost-per-click (cpc) rates
  •  Running display advertising via the Google content network and other relevant ad networks
  •  Providing the Digital Marketing Manger with reporting on Google Adwords PPC & Display activity

  •  Degree Educated – preferably in a Marketing or Business-related subject
  •  A-levels (3 A – C) – preferably business or ICT related
  •  Experience in Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop & Illustrator
  •  Experience in website traffic building &maintenance
  •  Experience in Google Analytics and Adwords
  •  Experience of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
  •  Creative and innovative approach to work
