Electromechanical Design Engineer Job

Our client need someone who can fill position as Electromechanical Design Engineer. Location at Newbury Park, CA.

The Electromechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for applying engineering principles while performing product design/layout functions and supporting engineering related activities in an environment that manufactures AC, Motors, DC Motors, Electric Fans, Blowers, Speed Transducers, Starter Generators, and Tachometers. Your work will involve the application of designing engineering concepts and methods to the designs of new, standard or modified components and products. Must be hands on and results driven individual with a propensity for advancing your skills in motor technology.

Responsibilities:
  1. Magnetic/electrical design of motor, including winding/connection schematics, magnetic design.
  2. Engineering deliverables for multifunctional designs working with the development team or under the direction of the Director of Engineering.
  3. Serve as Engineering Lead or Team Leader, as required, on multi-disciplined product development team.
  4. Set and assign product and prototype priorities based on Product Line Manager's, Direct engineering and/or customer's direction.
  5. Direct and mentor junior engineers/mechanical designers in product groups.
  6. Apply strong working knowledge of motors (AC induction, DC Brush and Brushless) and/or electro-mechanical rotating equipment.
  7. Work with motor design engineers, chief engineer or engineering data to define and develop design concepts to meet customer requirements.
  8. Prepare preliminary, final or working layouts, estimate engineering time, complete dimensional studies, perform calculations, qualify and/or test units.
  9. Analyze, interpret and apply military, commercial, and customer specifications for materials, finishes and processes.
  10. Uphold design conformance to group standards, customer standards and/or group policies.
  11. Review design problems with concerned departments; prepare and process engineering change orders as required.
  12. Communicate with customers, suppliers and other outside representatives on matters relating to product design.
  13. Perform customer specification reviews, internal design reviews and update the customer specification cross-reference database.
  14. Provide production floor support during assembly of the new and existing designs.
  15. Keep current on new developments in the design-engineering field.
  16. Possess leadership qualities, positive attitude with the ability to deliver on time.
Requirements fo apply:
  1. B.S. Degree in related engineering field
  2. 10 years of product design engineering
  3. AC Induction and/or DC Brushless motor design experience is preferred with a strong emphasis in new product design, product assembly, repair and failure analysis
  4. Working knowledge of setting up and running motor performance tests
  5. Working knowledge of Solidworks
  6. Experience with Ansoft or SPEED software is extremely helpful
  7. Ability to work within product teams or separately
  8. Must possess good oral, written communication skills and have a high level of moral and ethical standards.
