We are a Blue Chip Commodities Trading Company based in Canary Wharf, London. Due to continued expansion we are now looking for a Product Control Analyst to join our Gasoline Product Control team.

The London Gasoline Product Control team is responsible for managing the Gasoline trading activity in Europe. It is an important member of the global Gasoline Product Control organisation which includes teams in Global Oil Americas (Cantera), Calgary and Eastern Hemisphere (Singapore).

Reporting to the Regional Gasoline Product Control Manager, your primary accountabilities will include:
Provide control and management information for front and middle office, including
  • Own the relationship with the relevant trader(s) and manage relationships with other teams and functions such as Operations, Settlements and Accounts
  • Forecast working capital requirements.
  • Spot and remedy issues with trading positions and use understanding of the trading books to explain trading performance and strategies.
  • Support process and system improvements through leading and participating in various project initiatives.
  • Covering for other analysts within the team.
  • Analysing and investigating the results obtained to the underlying data, before reporting to Management.
  • Production of daily system of record exposure
  • Daily Profit & Loss and accompanying analysis and insight
  • Monitoring of Delegations of Authority and adherence to trading limits
  • Enhance the control environment through critical evaluation of current controls and processes, utilisation of best practice and the introduction of ongoing improvements.
  • Reconcile Management Information to Accounting data on a timely and accurate basis, and assisting in the resolution of the financial closing issues.

The ideal candidate will be at least a graduate from a Top University and have a minimum 2 years physical commodities product control (oil or gas) experience. Experience working on Gasoline product is advantageous. Any accountancy qualification (ACA, CIMA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent) would be a distinct advantage. CFA, FRM or other relevant professional qualifications will be considered. You will have good mathematical ability with robust interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work within a team to meet deadlines.
