Echo Magazine is an entirely independent publication with the latest on alternative music, independent labels and new and exciting underground acts. We like to focus on mind-bending sounds coming from rock'n'roll and folk to electronica and 'outernational' artists - especially acts who we know have great music and even cult followings but who don't always receive the level of exposure that they deserve. We are now going into print as a free newspaper, due to be released and distributed in July across the UK and mainland Europe.
A newly launched music magazine is on the look out for reviewers, photographers, feature writers and designers to join its team of contributors. You can view our latest reviews, photos, features and interviews online at: http://echomagazine.org
Our regular features include music news, interviews with bands, reviews of the latest albums and reissues, festival and gig previews and reviews and features where we aim to break new ground by getting stuck in with new talent and unsigned bands as well as keeping an eye on the passing tide for any lost gems.
We have contributors worldwide, from Chile and Australia to the USA to France. As writers we all share an interest in music and have all been heavily involved with music during the past decade, as journalists, promoters, DJs, working in record shops or as members of touring bands.
We have close relationships with a myriad of labels and artists and our online magazine is growing in popularity each day.
We're looking for people with a bit of a punk ethos, who are culturally perceptive and who have a wide-ranging knowledge of music. It would help, if you decide to apply, to write a bit about yourself and the music that blows you away and attach a document or link to some of your most recent writing, photography or design work.
Please note that this is unpaid, however we aren't offering you an internship or work placement - you can contribute as little or as much as you want to the magazine. In return we offer the chance to get your work published in print and to get involved with a group of passionate music lovers, along with the chance to hear new music in advance, get into gigs and festivals for free, interview bands and maybe meet some cool people along the way. We will obviously credit you alongside your work if it gets published.
