Essential requirements

  • Office administration experience, either at an admin assistant or administrator or office junior or secretary level.
  • An ability to engage with all people on different levels.
  • Approachable and organisational.
  • Commitment to the role, the team and urban youth.
  • Good english communication skills both verbal and written.
  • An interest in business administration.

Desirable requirements
  • Business qualification
  • Pa experience

The main duties of the Office Administrator volunteer role;

  • To complete general filing tasks, ensuring documentation is filed in the correct and appropriate place.
  • To deal with incoming and outgoing correspondence.
  • To use the computer updating databases and completing general internet searches for the organisation.
  • Collating and recording information (including info and stats on young people).
  • To complete general filing tasks, using the computer to create databases, graphs and reports, talking to and meeting and greeting visitors.
  • To meet and greet young people and visitors that comes to the office.
  • To answer the telephone, transferring calls or taking appropriate messages and passing them onto the relevant people.

YOU MUST BE AVAILABLE TO VOLUNTEER TUESDAY EVENINGS FROM 6PM UNTIL 9PM EVERY WEEK. YOU WOULD DO THE SAME TWO EVENINGS EVERY WEEK TO ENSURE STABILITY, THOUGH THERE WILL BE SOME FLEXIBILITY.

Please also note that the successful candidates will be required to pay a deposit of £16.00 which is for your Enhanced CRB check (Police Check). This is payable, at the beginning of the Induction after you have been successful.

Urban Youth is the young people led youth organisation based in Tower Hamlets London which provides positive activities, support and training to young people aged 9 to 21 years old who live, work, study or socialise in London.
From starting in March 2006, the organisation keeps continuing to grow from strength to strength, moving forward towards Charity status.
